Our own Christian Baptism - a rite that embodies our choice for the way of God - opens us to a life of spiritual combat with the forces of evil, the enemies of God. This was also the pattern of Jesus' life: the temptation in the desert came right after his Baptism, and was just the beginning of a lifetime battle. In our own spiritual combat, therefore, we are not just struggling in vain. We follow Jesus, our Master, who was with wild animals, and with ministering Angels.
The 'St Michael's Book of Deliverance' - drawing from the sound and rich teaching, tradition and theology of the Catholic Church - is meant to be an aid for readers to understand better, and to obtain effectively, the help and intercession of the Holy Angels, the Heavenly Host of the Truine God, in the face of our particular individual spiritual combat.
It consists of two parts: Part One, which is a compilation of beautiful prayers for deliverance and protection; and Part Two, which contains some short Readings meant to elicit our deeper faith in God, his Saints and his Angels.
