As a Tribute to Brother Daniel Faivre SG and to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Westminster Interfaith, his book Transcendence has been reprinted as a new edition. Brother Daniel devoted most of his life to building bridges between the different faiths. At his Memorial Service in 2007, Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor called him a pioneer and a prophetic figure in the work of inter-faith relations.
This book is probably the best known of his many inter-faith publications. It stands as a legacy to his dedication and work. It is a careful selection of prayers and sacred texts on various themes from a wide range of religious and cultural traditions, which Brother Daniel chose and used effectively in his activities. A few extra texts have been added, as well as some photographs, taken mainly from inter-faith prayer meetings and the multi-faith pilgrimages for peace and friendship, which Brother Daniel started in 1986.
