Holy Week

A Blessed Holy Week and Easter from Cathedral Centre Books

In this final week of Lent, the team at Cathedral Centre Books would like to thank you for your support. Our website has gone from strength to strength since its launch before Christmas and we have our wonderful customers to thank!
We wish you a very holy and happy Easter season and look forward to welcoming you online or in store very soon.

Cathedral Centre Books will be closed from 4.45pm on Thursday 13th April and will re-open from 9am on Tuesday 18th April.

Orders placed online during this time will be processed on 18th April.

Cathedral Centre Café

Have you had a chance to visit Cathedral Centre Café yet?

It is a wonderful addition to our Cathedral Centre, serving hot food, sandwiches, snacks, and drinks in a relaxing and peaceful space.

Why not combine a trip to Cathedral Centre Books with lunch in the café. Our friendly Cathedral Centre staff would be happy to welcome you!

Cathedral Centre Café is open 10.30am - 4pm, Monday - Friday.

A Mother's Prayer

Lord, who promised to be with us always,

I bring before you my children.

Guide them in life

and help me to live in such a way

that your example shines through who I am, what I do, and what I say.

I pray for wisdom and grace

to witness to your love.

Prayer taken from Being A Catholic Mother by Elizabeth Davies.

Today on Mothering Sunday we pray for all mothers; our own and those close to us.

We thank God for their love and care and ask God to bless them in everything they do.

We also pray today for our Mother Church - may we all work together in peace and love to bring about God's kingdom.

Sharing Easter Joy

We are already half way through Lent and the bright days and (somewhat early!) April showers we have been experiencing recently have got the Cathedral Centre Books team looking forward to Easter.

We love sharing this joyful time with our customers and especially looking past the chocolate and the bunnies to the miracle of Christ's resurrection.

Why not share some of that Easter joy with your own family and friends? Our bright and beautiful Easter cards will do just that! With individuals, packs, Mass cards, and charity cards we have somethig to suit everyone. Find our range online here.

The Cathedral Centre Books team wish everyone a blessed over the last three weeks of Lent and we look forward to welcoming you - in person or online! - very soon.

Let us introduce ourselves...

Welcome to the Cathedral Centre Books blog, a space where we hope to keep you up to date with the latest Catholic publications and news and to join with you in prayer as a community.

Many of you will be familiar with our shop in Salford  - we are based at Salford Cathedral working in the Cathedral Centre alongside the diocesan departments for Formation and Education, amongst others. The shop moved here in 2011 from Brazennose Street in the city centre as part of Bishop Brain's vision for all diocesan resources to be accessible in one place. We are a small and friendly team of staff: Cecilia, our manager, and Daniel work here full time, and are joined part time by Hannah and Grant. We have had the pleasure of serving many new and long-standing customers during our time here, and each one of us brings our own unique set of skills to the role - I could mention particularly Daniel's vast and unfaltering knowledge of our stock!

We have a wide range of Catholic books on the faith, prayer,  and the saints, to name just a few. Our range also includes a variety of Catholic gifts for all occasions, including beautiful statues, rosary beads, and crucifixes.

Cathedral Centre Books is open Monday to Saturday from 9am until 4.45pm, and we would love to welcome you should you wish to come for a browse. However, we are also proud to introduce, where you can browse and purchase many of our products from the comfort of your home!

We are always happy to answer any queries either by email or by phone - you can find our details on our Contact Us page. We hope to see you very soon.

     God bless.
