The image of Divine Mercy is a gift to us from Jesus Himself. He appeared to St. Faustina, a nun in Poland, and asked that she have an image created of what she saw. Jesus was standing, with one hand touching His heart and the other raised in blessing. Coming from the Heart of Jesus were two rays of light: one red and one white. The red ray represents the Blood of Jesus and the white ray represents the water which gushed forth from the side of Jesus when He was on the Cross. At the bottom of the image are the words “Jesus, I trust in You.” Jesus promised that anyone who had the image would receive special blessings from Him! Today, the image of Divine Mercy is found in churches and homes all over the world.
